Dead Chick

Thread Starter

So I went to feed and water last night and found one of my banties dead, no apparent reason, no evidence of predators, no blood,,,,,,,nuttin!  No idea why and don't know what to think. Rest of the chickens are fine.

She was a 13 week old Dominique, not my favorite chicken but never the less,,,,,,,,,,,husband think she died of lonliness cuz I gave away my other three dominiques last weekend.

She who dies with the most chickens WINS!!!!

If there are other chickens I doubt it was loneliness. I'd keep a close eye on the others for anything strange that might be going on. Not sure what your weather is like, maybe heat related.

I'm sorry, that's hard. I hope you find out the cause.
Good luck with the rest of the flock and have a happy 4th :)

Mysterious. Did she seem fine earlier in the day? I once had a chicken get sick early in the morning and die later in the day. Any strange behavior? Keep in eye on your other chickens. Hope you find the cause.
