Rock and Roll Eggs - First Hatch

I'm on Day 20 of my first incubation with 11 beautiful eggs - marans, ameraucana, auricana, sussex and wyandotte. I've candled them up until now, and all are growing well.  Lock-down is KILLING me!!  I'm such a dork - I've been bawking to them all day.  My husband thinks I've gone off the deep end!ep.gif

Anyway, as I've been ogling them, a couple of them have wiggled. I know this is normal, but should they all be doing it?  Or, are they just being sneaking their antics when I'm not watching??

I'm a human embryologist and make babies for a living.  I will feel like a complete and utter failure if they don't hatch!!!  Worse yet, what if I start cheeping to my people embryos in the IVF lab??  Surely, they will commit me.  (Hopefully, somewhere with chickens).

welcome-byc.gif  Step away from the incubator!  Take a deep breath, one aspirin, retreat to bed and check on things in the morning.

I'm on day 20 as well! But your growth rate seems much better than mine! I had 12 eggs and only five were growing! HAHAHA! I peep and bawk at mine too! I haven't seen any of mine wiggle... Now I'm worried! Silkie chickens... Such small eggs...

Good luck to you! Sending you moral support! Let me know how it goes, Kay? :D

Clucking and Cheeping at the eggs is normal....

DO NOT open the Bator... let them do their thing...

Find something else to do.  I find setting so I am at work on hatch day is best for everyone.

We all cluck and chirp at the eggs on hatch day.

I also move them to the bathroom, so I can unload fuzzy chicks with high heat and humidity. (steam up the bath before I open the bator)

Otherwise just let them be until they all hatch.

Good luck

Good hatching vibes coming your way!

No joking! I think I'm going to have a stroke! I just want to dump them out of their little shells already! I mean, you have bonded with them by turning them, and candling them, now you can't even OPEN the bator!! I hope you heard a peep! I'm still waiting for mine... Keep us posted! You're giving me hope! Hahaha! wink.png

WE HAVE A PIP!!!!!!!  So, I'm sitting there, singing chicken opera to my eggs, my hub is secretly videoing me so he can have a laugh.  All of a sudden, a little triangle budge appeared on one of my Light Sussex eggs!!  I squeal and start jumping up and down, and my husband is rolling because he preserved the whole thing for posterity!   How can I POSSIBLY go to bed now????wee.gif
