Hens stopped laying eggs

Hello! I have 11 hens and a rooster for about 5 weeks already, since I got them, I have been picking up 8-9 eggs every day, but in the last 2 weeks, they went down to 3-4 a day. Is there a reason why this happened? here in New Mexico we are having record high temperatures, could this be a problem?

I think thats pretty common. My chickens egg laying slows way down when we have a hot spell. I wouldnt worry too much. Just make sure they have access to water and shade and when the temps go back down to normal the egg laying will probably go back up. Chickens are kind of fussy sometimes
