You could name it Silver Star. Silver if it is going to stay that color and Star for Fourth of July. It makes up a cute name I think.

Dutchhollow... don't feel bad about him not having a name yet. I have a 2.5 month old filly that still goes by Filly, because I can't find a name that fits her. She's a spitfire, and is just so GOGOGOGO all the time, it's hard to see her personality.

Don't worry about a name right now. All of my colts when born are named "SON", then they help pick their own name by personality. With all the boys I have had, sometimes it is hard to remember who I have that I am working with. So they ALL answer to "Son" and their own barn name. The reason I say that is when you have a dozen Chocolate/ Flax mane and tail and half of them are geldings or stallions you need them to know and mind you no matter what. It also makes it much easier for your vet and farrier to calm your boy down. And all of my mares and fillys are called "GIRL" along with their barn name. I start and train all of my own horses and it makes it so much easier for me when schooling more than one horse a day.

BTW, just a few months ago a multi- international champion mare in western,saddleseat, and trail multi year winner. Also in competition on the ACTHA trail trials. Sold for $4500.00, two years ago I know they turned down over 50K for her. She is a been and done that kind of mount.

I know what is coming with your old PF, I just lost my old foundation mare a few months ago. She was a least 28 YO, at registration time. She came off the mountain top in Ky. was put under saddle as an adult, certified and that was her birthday. I had a bit of living history, she was 1 of 33 that started the Rocky Mountain Horse Breed. But I still have one of her daughters.

Was out of town for weekend, and had a little scare. Night before I left went out and his nose was covered in yellow snot (it was 6 pm, I am flying out at 6 am!), call vet, they run out. Normal temp, heartrate and repiration, lungs were clear. Thing upper resp because of color of snot, hit him with penn. so twice a day while I was gone my 'caretaker' had to give hm shots, he was actually cleared up and driy at 4 am friday am when I checked him the next am, and was fine all weekend, except now getting leary of people because of shots. Today to be last day of meds, I got a call this am and he was snottty again. I got home and check him, call vet. He wants me to move him to a different pasture (one is is in is very weedy), see it it clears up, but Iwent out to move them and he was fine??? Could it be he is eating something he is allergic to, or he spends time in a certain part of the field and gets snotty, then gets out and clears up?

But he seems fine, will get some pictures this evening, he runs very fast for a little guy!

Learning towards Indy for a name, but my caretaker calls him smokey!

Sounds like he has 2 barn names, Indy and Smokey.... He will learn to come to both, my black gelding Maverick has 2 barn names (Mavie and Pig) yes he comes to both. I can be up at the barn and call" Here Pig,Pig pig pig." and Mavie comes running. The new neighbors came over and I showed them the chickens and horses. Then they asked to see the pigs.

So I started calling pig and here comes Mavie running up to me. Boy did they flip out. I had the best laugh about that one. Especially when I told them about his show career. He is a multi time state champion and reserve grand champion for both youth and adult in saddleseat and gaited shows. When I go to prep him at the show, we call it putting lipstick on the pig.

I really like Indy..... I just know so many named Smokey that have the chocolate color.
