Anyone have reptiles/amphibians? Show 'em off!

I was trying to find a thread that was still active where I could share pics of my Alduin/talk about reptiles. unfortunately, most such threads are years old, and I feel kind of dumb posting in them. So, anyone have reptiles or amphibians as well as chickens? big_smile.png Here's Alduin, my adopted baby. My cousin who bought him thought he was a corn snake, but after research, he looks much more like a baby rat snake. Based on the fact that he's getting a yellowish orange tinge to his scales recently, I believe he's a yellow rat snake. He is the absolute best snake anyone could ask for, never strikes, always calm, eats well, sheds well. I've converted several snake-haters with him love.giffirst two pics were the day I got him (i know, sand is terrible, I've since changed the substrate to cypress mulch), others are more recent. Please, share your stories/post pics!

So pretty! I agree, I think he's a Yellw Rat Snake. I will have to dig through my computer pictures to find some of my snakes/reptiles (:

Thank you smile.png I've kept garter snakes, fence lizards, and turtles in the past but my Alduin is by far my favorite one. And yay, I love seeing pics of reptiles big_smile.png

So it seems no one else has reptiles sad.png . Oh well. Anyway, I was going through old computer pics when I came upon this gem. I think I was like 8 in this picture lol. Much to my mother's dismay I would often appear holding a snake I had caught. In this case, a cute little garter snake smile.png These little guys would often hang around the garden next to the chicken pens big_smile.pnggartersnake.jpg

Jim Bo

This is Jim Bo. She was first thought to be a he, and is about 2 inches longer than Ben, the male Russian Tort that we have.

Here is Mr Oliver enjoying the ambient heat from the Turtles lamp... Jim Bo can be seen directly under the lamp... Ben can be seen is the upper left corner of the cage, near the bark piece.

I used to own an Iguana... a Peruvian Blue Iguana named Merlin... I do miss her...

How cute! I've never kept tortoises, but they seem so mellow smile.png and a blue iguana! She sounds lovely. I would love to get an iguana but i simply dont have the room lol. They're such ancient-looking and beautiful reptiles.

The torts are really mellow, we let them roam around the house and they normally find a sunny spot to stretch out in. The iguana was such a beautiful creature, she was about 3 feet long and we had her in a 4' by 4' cage... we would often find her hanging upside down from the top. I will have to dig around and see if I have any pictures of her. My cat used to sit next to the cage and begin to purr while the iguana leaned up to the glass and shut her eyes. I want another iguana... but my zoo is a little crowded right now as it is.

Snapping turtle, eek! ep.gifI find it hard to find them cute, as I see giant tire-sized ones almost every day at our pond. They're aptly name cause they snap at EVERYTHING lol. When hatching season comes around I like to try to find and watch nests, and when I found a baby snapper, just hatched, one day, about the size of a quarter, I picked him up and he snapped at me! They're snappy from the beginning lol
