Bumblefoot... Advice Needed

I have two hens with bumblefoot. I only took pictures of the first hens foot. Is this bumblefoot? I have read a lot about the surgery so I think I know how to do it.

Do I need to preform surgery?

From what I read on the bumblefoot surgery thread...I think you should try it now. 

 

At least do the soaking and cleaning part to see if you can get the scab abd plug out easily

There's also info on treating Bumblefoot on my Poultry Podiatry page.

 

If you have a link to instructions on doing the surgery, I'd appreciate having it so it can be added to the site to help people.

SpeckledHills: I just google Bumblefoot in chickens and look at all of the results. =] The BYC article on how to do the surgery is very informative.
