Goose lovers – please help!! - Page 15

Iain, just got back, and sent you a pm about a donation and adoption.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Our vet appt is at 9:45 am tomorrow.  I am taking the grey and buff babies with spinal injuries... who, by the way, are looking much better.  Pretty darn sure both will make it!!!  I am also taking a grey baby that I believe is blind and a white african baby that appears to have a broken wing and leg joint issues.

Marty, thank you!!!  hugs.gif

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Thank you Marty & Sue for your donations!!!!  It will cover much needed fecal samples and worming.

The gentleman who saved some of her chickens after reading this thread had a necropsy done on a bird that was sick.  While negative for diseases, it did show chronic roundworm problems.  As I am bringing 4 juveniles tomorrow, we can get fecal samples and find out what kind/how bad the worms are and will treat accordingly.

Utah, what are the breeds of chickens?  The Marans?  Glad you made it back ok.  You are truly an ambassador for critters, large and small.  thumbsup.gif

Morning all,

Iain if you can swing it today, please keep me posted on that buff baby's prognosis at the vets office please. Later today would like to get you to help me with some stuff so we can add a donate now button. The easier it is made to give more likely people will.

Want to work on the rescue page more today to make it better, yesterday I was focused on getting the info up. I did get the feed store info listed, as well as both sets of PayPal info.

Will report on vet appt as soon as able.  We rounded up the two juveniles here (blind and broken wing babies) and noticed a 3rd was lame, so we loaded him up too, which means I am now taking 5 birds this morning.  Getting ready to head out now that all the others are fed.

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Back from the vet with mostly good news.

Buff girl has bruised spine and broken toe, but will be just fine with another week of rest in separate pen

Grey boy has badly bruised spine, but will be just fine with another week of rest in separate pen

White african girl has beginning angel wing (already wrapped) and nutrition related joint issues that should resolve itself with proper diet and care.

Grey boy has bumblefoot that will most likely resolve itself with proper care and a week of rest in separate pen

Grey girl has cataracts in both eyes.  She has lost about 75% of her sight, but can still see well enough to get around with group.  However, she will need surgery as it is progressive.

Fecal test shows roundworms (which we expected), but a simple ivermectin treatment should fix that up.

Total bill: $431.85, which I paid in full today.

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???
