Thank you for re-opening the thread, far too much work went into this to be derailed now as we close in on final placements.

Yes, thanks for re-opening this thread.  I am one of the potential adoptees, so there is a lot of information contained here that is important to me, and to others.

Deleting the vituperative texts was appropriate, as this is not the place for that.

So, now let's all get on with finishing the mission!     thumbsup.gif

Thread Starter

Dear All,

I am saddened to discover that last night my husband engaged in a public altercation with the man from California where I rescued the geese that resulted in the moderators temporarily locking the thread.  While the inappropriate posts were properly deleted, many of you saw an email I sent privately to the former owner.  I believe those who have read the thread from the inception knew that the contents of my email were well documented in the thread and I stand by everything I wrote.  There was one matter that was not publicly discussed, which is that the buff dewlap juveniles are cross-bred.  However, as the adopters of those juveniles (Shellie, Cheri, Susan and Paulla) can attest, each one received a direct telephone call from me upon discovery where I informed and offered them the opportunity to not adopt them, knowing they are cross-bred.

I only mention it publicly now for those who purchased buff hatching eggs or goslings from the former owners this year who may believe they have purebred buff dewlaps.  Of the 16 buff juveniles I have (previously purchased and rescued) there is only one bird in the group that is purebred.

Hope this post is not breaking any forum rules.  I apologize for the negative drama, but the events of the past 24 hours only reinforces my conviction that rescuing these geese was the right thing to do.

I trust that we can get past the craziness that took place last night and get back to the business of completing the mission of placing these wonderful pets into good homes.

Thank you,

Janet M. Conway

Don't worry about it if the baby of the family is unwell.  Just whenever you have time.

Thanks so much for all of your help!!!

And yes, Janet called and we discussed the Buff issue at great lengths. She has done everything she can to be upfront and honest about the geese.
