Goose lovers – please help!! - Page 91

Thanks for the information Iain Utah. You are right; oftentimes it is the wee people who move the world. The local SPCA where I live is fantastic (Montreal, Quebec). They do great work and frequently go into emergency mode when bad rescues (think of gruesome ways to euthanise) finally get shut down. Moreover, every lease/rental expires on the first of July. It is known as Montreal Moving Day. Hundreds of cats, dogs, ferrets, bunnies, and ducks are simply dumped. We have done our bit for cats and dogs,  trying to help where we can, but there is a gaping hole for farm animal rescues.

I offered to help our local this spring and we now have three adolescent ducklings (Pekin, White Muscovy, and something Aylesbury-like) finally wandering around with our other critters. This is Nothing compared to the work, heartache, and money that you put into the goose rescue. Well done and Thank you.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Thank you for the lovely compliments. big_smile.png

Is there anyone out there considering the adult white african trio or the remaining pair of grey dewlap ganders???  I placed a listing on the classifieds section of the forum but no responses yet.  I do not want to list them locally as it is doubtful anyone in Utah will understand the quality and rareness of these breeds. However, I do need to place them to achieve my set maximum personal flock number.  I am willing to work with anyone on costs to get them shipped.  fl.gif  to getting the last of the geese placed!

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

We added Napoleon and Josephine to the flock this morning.

Introductions went as planned, I figure Napoleon will realize he's older then Squishy and they'll have to settle who's gonna be "flock master" then, but for now everyone is getting along well.

They are eatting well and no longer panic when I step in the pen with them. thumbsup.gif   They do however still stay as faraway as possible.  We're working on the trust issue.  Maybe by next summer they wont remember all the upheaval they have survived.  fl.gif

Aww, they look like one big happy flock already Paulla. I doubt it takes until next summer, you guys will have them eating out of your hand within a few weeks.

I was asked for new pictures of the grey adults, so I went clicking away with hubby's camera this afternoon.  Picture overload time!

Lightning, the far right boy in the 1st picture (who is the biggest boy left) has a slight limp to his gait.  I think it is a hip joint rotation issue, but should not be a big deal to his mobility and quality of life, other than needing arthritis meds later in life.  However, I have not had my vet exam him to be sure.  I was wondering if you would consider him as part of your pair??

Here is the grey girl that I have decided to go ahead and keep with my group, with the extra buff gander.  I will move them once I can move the rescue juvenile dewlaps out of my side yard.

Adult buffs:

White africans... adult trio and juveniles:

Last but not least... a few pics of my juveniles and a pic of my muscovy girls:
