OK ------

My sisters duck, was swimming in the pool this morning and was spooked so he jumped  out of the pool , and ran away.....then came back.

He had trouble getting back into the kiddy pool and finally succeeded. When we put him back into the coop after a while, he was limping a lot and is leg was shaking a bit. Now he cannot put weight on his left leg.barnie.gif

His name IS gimpy because he has a natrually crooked left foot.hit.gif

What do you think is wrong with him......?

How can i help him?
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Was his left foot already crooked?  If there aren't any visible injuries he could have sprained it getting out, you could put him in a bath to get the weight off his leg.

Might be a good idea to keep him from doing alot of walking till you can evaluate it better, it maybe broken. and yes soaking in water will help him alot to keep weight off of it, makes sure he has a way in and out so he doesn't have to jump either way,. hopefully it's not broken just a sprain but letting him rest will be the best for healing. and supportive care like vitamins in his water.

About 7 months ago we brought a lame duck home:

All we did was isolate her in a small cage so that she couldn't move around a lot, gave her food, water and multivitamins and today she's fine. She does limp, but that was to be expected.

When evaluating data one should always consider the source and remember, no one wants to make illegal that which he wants to do.

how would i keep him from walking? my mom wont let me put the food and water inside so .......and there is only sun outside where the food and water is....but since we are giving him complete access to the pool..and we have built a stone stepping stone sort of thing so he does not have to climb as much. Gimps walking is getting a lot better. he can easily get up and down the ramp to the hutch........PRAISE THE LORD!!bow.gifclap.gif
