So look what I got after that "potatoe" incidence with my husband.  He insists now that he was just trying to show my RIR how he wanted his eggs!  hahaha.. Your girls did a good job!

So, the next day we got another hugh egg from RIR.  Here are the photos of the results.

2 eggs on left from RIR.  White in the middle is large store bought egg.  next is large one from my Barred Rock and then my small one from the EE.

Yes!  The two large eggs from the RIR were indeed double yokers!  Yummy!  Don't know yet about the large one from the BR.  Today, our eggs were all back to normal.  Do you think I should put the potato back in the nest?  ahahhahha!

Oh my goodness!  Two doubles in a row??

The small egg is the same size as the grocery store egg. Haha!

I think you should definitely put the potato back in the nest!!  Show those hens what to do!

On another note, we're still waiting on egg #2 from Georgina.  She laid her first on Thursday and we haven't seen one since.  I keep wondering if she laid it somewhere in the yard, but I've checked all the little hidden places and can't find any eggs.  hu.gif

Yay!  Egg #2 was waiting for me when I went out to the coop at 10 this morning.  It was even smaller than the last one and she had laid it in the run!!

My first Brahma Light hen 27.5 weeks, just laid her first egg today, approximately 1 week after she started squatting. My second little hen is a few days younger. I suspect it won't be long for her to start too.
