I will most definitely post pictures when they get here! I have my other flocks, but I wanted some good free ranging chickens as well. The Spitz are good at flying and like to roost in trees, so I thought it would be perfect to have as a free range bird around here.

Benbact should be available at Pet's Mart.  I'm not sure what you mean by fermented feed?

Married to the old dude, 0 human kids, 2 horses, 10 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, 1 sun conure, 1 amazon parrot,  1 eccentric peacock, 1 gsd, 1 pet terrapin, 1 Blue Copper Maran rooster, and 14 world famous Jersey Giants!

This is actually my first order with them. My flock comes from breeders, feed stores, hatched eggs, and then I have 10 chicks and 3 ducks from Ideal hatchery.

This is also my first Cackle order. I have a few feed stores close by I'm gonna try and grab a few chicks from them this coming spring too. And I'm building my first incubator, so I guess I'm gonna be hatching my own as well lol. Chicken math huh? Lol
Well I hope you chicks come on time and all healthy. Make sure you post pictures for us, I would like to see your baby's big_smile.png

Fermented feed is when you soak the feed first and let it sit for a day or so and it supposedly is better than dry feed? I'm not to sure about how it really works and all that I've just started to read about it really. But I just wasn't sure if maybe you had experience doing that or not.

Im gonna be sure to pick up some of benbact from PetSmart. Thanks for the tip! I need them;)

Wow it sounds like you have a very colorful flock! I can imagine you must have a really nice coop area for all of them. I'd really like to see what that looks like.
I'm really hoping I don't have any DOA's lol. That just wouldn't be very fun for my first order. But it happens I guess, right? Lol.
So how do you mix the sugar water? Like what ratio?

I think I'd avoid 'fermented' feed at this point.
