Is This Worth Recycling and Converting?

I have a hideous sand filter tank on my property. We used to use a well for water but in the summer it always went dry so we got city water. So, we now have this thing sitting around. It really bugs me to have this eye sore just sitting behind my pump-house. So, I've been thinking, would it be worth turning into a little coop? With paint it wouldn't be half as ugly. It is 2 feet wide, by 3 ft 8 inches in length, and is 3 feet tall. Here's a pic of it:

Worth Recycling?

What you see on the top of it is the lid (the sand filter is upside down, with opening on the ground). The bottom that is facing up right now is solid and keeps rain and weather out. Any recommendations? Thoughts? I do not have a lot of money to spend on this but my dad is very good with tools and could probably work something out. Anything would be better than how it is now. No one wants it and there is no junk yard to take it.

I have 18 chickens, one kitten, 3 dogs, 2 hermit crabs, and live on 20 acres in the country. I am CrAzY about chickens and plan on getting more! I am continually working to better my chicken practices and to better my flocks.

have dad put a plywood bottom on it then cut the top section off and add hinges to it and  use it to store feed in.

depends how hot it get where you are but in the summer that metal will make it like an oven in there. Chickens wont be able to survive inn it when that happens. I dont think its rubbish though. You could definitly turn it into something else
