Well i have a chicken coop and it has no perch bars just wood should i put a perch bar inside or not but i also have a pvc
perch bar outside in the run will the chicken sleep outside and is pvc a good thing to use as a perch

I believe the chickens natural desire is to sleep on a perch. I would put something in the coop for that purpose. I just find sticks and boards to use. I have never tried PVC. I have heard some people use other material, such as metal, but I would think the chicks would want a material they can grasp. It is also sometimes helpful, if you can do it, to put something under the perch to catch the poop, makes cleaning a bit easier.

Someone on ebay makes free standing perches. http://www.ebay.com/itm/L-FREESTAND...aultDomain_0&hash=item20b5fcfc2b#ht_739wt_692

Glad I found this! I can make this for my silkies and get them and their LF chicks out of the nest boxes at night.
