turkey poop

Thread Starter

I got 2 one month old with 6 coming Thursday. They are growing fine and are really active and curious but I got one problem.THEY STINK TOO HIGH HEAVENep.gif. I had this issue with my ranger meaties and I fed them mash and the poop got tight not at all runny and the stink went away. Turkey do not seem to like mash, now what? For that matter what do Turkey like? They ignore chick treats and do not like fresh greens like timothy.

I think it's the high amount of protein in their food for both meaties and turkies. Yes, they stink, but they need far more proteein than layers or multi-use birds.

If they are in a pin, throw some powdered lime in the coop and pin. That's what I do and it also helps on the flies. The lime is also good for them.
