It's where their poop is "pasted" on their butt. Hence the term "pasty butt". One of my chicks had it the day I brought her home. I took her in the bathroom, ran a little warm water in the sink, put her in it and took a soft rag and wet it and just gently wiped the poop away. Since then, she has been the friendliest chickie out of all of them. Hope this helps.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Oh WOW!! I'd love to go to Scotland! I have always wanted to visit Scotland and Ireland but I'm afraid of air traveling. Well...let's face it...I'm just scared of heights. hide.gif  My motto is "If God wanted me to go there, He'd have given me wings."  Guess I will just have to settle for pics. When you get a chance, post pics of your chickies. We love seeing them!!!

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
