Hello from the Live Free or Die State

Thread Starter

Hello from New Hampshire,

I have been checking this site for some time now and finally joined up. Finishing the roof on our new coop and pickup our birds on Thursday (Java's and Sussex).  Our site has been selected carefully and critter proofed extensively.

We have 2 children and its been at least 30 years since I last had chickens (we had 20 or so when I was a bit younger along with some Geese and Turkeys) so I am sure we will be in for some fun times.

I have been following Mrs K quite a bit as her weather in Winter is similar to ours and my family and I look forward to learning a lot through this site and interaction with others.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Every time I see New Hampshire it makes me smile, remembering so many classroom kids who always called it New Hamster...tongue.png   Welcome back to the world of chickens!

Caretaker of a lovely mixed flock including: australorp, plymouth rocks, wyandotte, d'uccles, silkies, EEs, andalusian, and a few seramas, plus a golden retriever, great dane, and three cats.
