I need help making a decision.....

I rescued an egg from a nest where a hen had hatched one chick and left the nest.  I took the egg and popped it in the bator to "give it a chance."   well, it just hatched and it is alone.  I can try it under the hen and her one, 4 day old chick - or I could put it under a broody hen that has been sitting for 3 days.  Neither is a great option but neither is raising a lone chick.  Everyone weigh in, PLEASE!

I will place at night under the hen that has already the chick.  I have put chicks under my hens knowing 50/50 chances of taking them or not. So far no bad experiences (but only twice my hens have gone broody).

Just keep an eye on the little one to make sure it's accepted.

Update - I took the little peeper out to the coop and it was peeping in my hand.  The hen was on her nest with her chick and when she heard the chick in my hand turned into a banshee!  She came at me and tried to attack the hand holding the chick.  I put the chick down on the floor of the coop and she ushered it into the nest and settled in on top!  Last I saw of it, a little black head poked out from under her wing and she cupped it with her beak and shoved it back under!  LOL!  I guess she's accepted it!

All my hens have accepted the baby chicks I put under them.
