Well lets see $1 billion is a lot of money but doesn't direct TV have over 30 million customers ?

Doesn't that make it a little over $33.00 each per year ?

Doesn't that make it less then $2.80 each per month ?

Doesn't that make it less then $0.10 each per day ?

Viacoms contract with Direct TV is 7 years old. Do you think that a $3.00 a month raise after 7 years is a big deal ? Over that same 7 years how much has Direct TV raised their rates to you ?

Direct TV made $4.6 billion last year for mostly passing others work on to you.

Viacom made $3.7 billion for producing and backing old and new shows with their money.

You should look at both sides.

I think the way the both went about it is bad business. Did you guys see the tickers and the commercials about it yesterday. They need grow up and leave the consumer out of their big business negotiations. Also shame on them for not coming to an agreement before time ran out. In the end WE are going to pay and WE ore the ones paying now with the channels blocked. BIg business needs to grow up!

well it was really was the only way to inform the entire direct tv consumers. direct tv only had the day there was no time they sent them a letter the day before, yesterday they gave everyone the message, and viacom took their channels. direct tv was trying to talk viacom into letting them continue to air the channels until negations were complete and viacom never got back to them. i've been reading all i can so i know the truth and its all on viacom wanting more money as if times weren't hard enough

Until Viacom pulls the same stunt with them.
