Drowning is traumatic and takes several minutes. Shoot or possibly an option is to gas them with car exhaust.

Yes, old thread........with a few exceptions, most participants now long gone. But goes to prove that some things never change. What to do about rats, neighbor's dogs and the coon you just trapped. Hundreds and hundreds of threads since that are just like these.
Yet solution re: trapped coon/varmint remains the same. You trap it, you kill it and if you can't live with that, then don't trap it in the first place. The alternative being to secure your coop so you won't have to. In the long run, that seems to be the best solution for most....yet a tactic employed by few. Thus hundreds and hundreds of threads.........sigh.
