GL Wyandotte: Roo? - Page 2

That new pic doesn't really help much, we need a profile pic that shows us his/her back. At only 10 weeks that much development of the comb makes me think cockerel.

If I had to put money I'd say roo. My SL girls had teeny combs and wattles until laying age. Also, in some of those pics the feathers near the tail are suspiciously pointy.

Yea, that's a cockerel...... the last pics you posted helped a lot.

1 German Shepherd, 1 Borador, 1 Malitpoo, 1 West Highland Terrier, 1 German Shorthair Pointer puppy, 3 Australorps, 6 Red Sex Links, 1 Black Sex Link, 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Tetra Tints (aka: Amber Sex Link) and 9 Easter Eggers.

YES, I had to thin my flock out. It went from 57 to 28.  :(

Yep, that's a roo.  You can really see the deep red coming in over the shoulders and wing bows plus it is developing saddle feathers.

Can some of you who know better please explain to me why this is a roo? The photo looks like hen coloring to me, but everyone seems to be saying boy. If it were a boy, wouldn't the red wing feathers be showing already? Or do GLW's have the lacing all throughout and then change later?

To me, it looks like a girl that's much older than 10 weeks. But I am new at this, and when I got my GLW roo, he was already 5 months old. thanks for the lesson, and to the OP, I hope it's a girl!
