I wasn't sure where to ask this, but I figured this as good as a section as any.

I have a 3 month old Comet that got hurt and has lost her primary oil gland that is normally on the back just before the tail nub.  Has anyone ever had a hen go through life without their oil gland?  I am not worried about her health.  My concern is how her feathers will be after a few months.
