My quail laid an egg about 4 days ago and hasn't laid another one yet, is that normal she just started laying!! And she gets food and water every day also clam shells!!
My quail only laid one egg!! PLEASE HELP!!

I think its okay. The first eggs are not as regular as later after they really get going. Is she acting normal otherwise?
That can be normal for first time layers. As long as she is not showing any signs of distress, I wouldn't worry about it.

I have one that started laying then quit for a couple weeks and then started again. They're not regular at first and sometimes even only lay every other day. I think if you find the time she normally likes to lay (mine are afternoon) and leave them alone in peace and quiet to get it done, they tend to lay better.

One of mine started at 11 weeks and the other started about 2 weeks later then quit for a couple weeks then started again. If the weather is not too hot, they usually lay an egg a day each now. I do take ice water, water with electrolytes and watermelon out to them on these hot days and that seems to keep them plenty perky and happy.

I have conturnix and they start laying at 40 days.
