chick been in bator for 10 hours now and all fluffy , how long to leave in bator please help !!

another egg has piped and i can hear cherps from it , would you remove the fluffy chick as it keeps knocking the piping egg ??

 I have 5 silkies  ,3 silkie frizzles , 1 silkie x bantam broody , 2 cream legbar , 1 speckled star , 1 polish frizzle , 5 polish 

and 3 x bluebelle , 1 orphinton  ,and just hatched a batch of orp,s polish and silkies  2 dog and 2 cats oh and 3 kids and him in doors ha ha ha i must be mad !!

You can take it out if you are able to keep your humidity up. Alot depends on what kind of  'bator you are using, you could shrink wrap the pipped egg if your humidity doesn't stay up after you open up to get the chick out. I hatch in a Reptipro so no worries about humidity. If you are going to do it, do it fast.

its homemade bator  humidity around 52% and seems to stay around that now . the oly thing that worries me is the chick will feel alone in the brooder until the other one hatched or am i just being daft ?

Not ike he'll be scared for life, worst is he'll chirp louder, good for lung development. He'll be fine

they are fine , second one hatched and all fluffy now celebrate.gifchicks 008.jpg

 

one is a polish and one a silkie , silkie still wobbles and dont stand on legs very well yet but im sure it will very soon . very please with my first go at hatching big_smile.png
