Cracking!

I woke up this morning checked the eggs and i see one that is cracking a little i want to know how long it will take because i dont see it cracking alot need help im on day 20 of incubation

Eggs can take up to 24 hours to hatch, so don't worry. Give it time and see if it makes progress. Sometimes a chick will break through the shell before it finished absorbing the yolk sac, so it needs to stay in there a bit longer and "helping" it hatch could be fatal.

Ok thank you this is ny 1st hatch so i really dont kno

Sumi,my eggs are on day 21 today, have no cracking or sounds from the eggs (only have 6).but 4 are moving in the incubater. Can you tell me how much longer before they will hatch? This in my first hatch and I'm worried.sad.png

 Like my rooster Awall, and Jaxx the tom cat.I"m always in trouble with the ole"lady!!

1-Partridge Plymouth Rock rooster,, 2-Partridge Plymouth Rock hens,,1-Rhode Island Red hen,,,1-Barred Plymouth Rock rooster,,,4-Plymouth Rock hens,,,3-PPR babies our PPR hatched,,1-mean old tom cat,,4-mean kids!!

And a wife that loves the chickens more then me and the kids!!!

U should start seeing mini cracks sooner !! Mine started moving and sooner i saw a crack now its a little bigger not too. Al though also mine started cherping so just be pacient not too long for them to crack

You should see a pip soon. Give them a bit more time. If they haven't managed to get through the shell after hours of trying they may need help, but leave that as a last resort.

ok,I first noticed the movement yesterday afternoon at 5:17pm(I'm keeping a log on everything that's going on,)Do i need to help now or give them more time? My wife hasn't left the incubater since she saw the eggs move! ! smile.png

How far along are your eggs?

have you had any cracks?? Or any type of living chick?
