When do I take them out and put them into lockdown? I do have another incubators with some ducks in it that are supposed to hatch in 3 days.....I thought this chicken hatching would be fun but its becoming a PITA....

I was told that is due to the humidity being too high.  I had one that was a few days from hatching and I touched it and it exploded.  I was told it was because the chick had developed too much and had no room to move to get free.

I am a wife and a mother to 1 son, 2 daughters, 2 step sons, 3 step daughters.

I currently have Two Barred Rock Hens and 1 Dominique Roo

and 6 baby barred rock/dominique mix and 1 Black Sex Link Jersey Giant.

2nd hatch date  7/23  I have a lot late on this hatch.

3rd hatch date   7/24  I think a lot are going to be late with the rest due to still air incubator.

4th hatch date   7/26

No, those are the two color combos in the two pens the Silkie enthusiast sold me eggs from. I am in suburban Colorado Springs, so no roosters allowed. hmm.png. It's funny though, the law says that chicks don't count as chickens until they are six months old and they don't define what a rooster is. So, in theory, I could keep one to the one year mark when it goes from being a cockerel to a true roo. lol.pngroll.png
