well, i did a eggectomy and had all 7 dead chicks, look like they just quit...sad day for me.. I have 8 more blue eggs that went on lock down today. they look okay, good size air cell, maybe some veins. hope these do better. will know in 4-5 days.....everyone send good hatching vibes my way, please......

I have one hatchling!  one other egg pipped, no other activity

this baby was born a little bloated and with some egg yolk still attached (humidity too high?), but after 4 hours it's active, no more yolk, and peeping away!

for my first hatch, I'll be happy with one healthy chick :)

Congrats!!! jumpy.gif How long from pip to hatch? I've kept my humidity on the lower side (67%) during lockdown and holding at 99 degrees and so far all 3 chicks that have hatched have come out fine, even though they are several days early.

BIG PROBLEM....Ok tomorrow is lock down for my Blue Black Splash  Orpingtons 10 eggs (SAT).. I may have numbered them not sure. I did put BB on them..

3 days later got some Buff Brahmas...Just realized i put BB on them too!. I think i put the date on the Brahmas,  maybe numbered the BBS?  I hope

BBS hatch 7th....Buff B's the 10th.

.. Wonder if i dont know about some if its worse to lock them down day 15 or to go ahead and let them stay in the regular humidity 42- 45 for 3 days extra.I gues let them stay and move it if starts to pip??

Only I could do this.I swear.

Guess i will candle and see if i can tell by that somewhat. but brown eggs and 3 days apart???? GUG.bow.gif

Thumper good vibes your way. GOOD LUCK!

If your humidity and temp were good then it may have been shipping. Were they shipped?  That can happen, Did to me..

oh Im so worried right now at somepoint last night during lockdown the temperature spiked and im not sure how high because my thermostat went out. I candled them to try to get some reassurance and I didnt see any movement in any of them. Is it normal for them not to move much on day 18?? am I over reacting and worrying for nothing? I think the highest it would have spiked would have been 105 and its a dry hatcher. any responds would be appriciated

Woke up this morning to one healthy fluffy chirping chick. 1 out of 4 is not bad for first hatch. It will be spoiled rotten. Will have to put something on his foot so I will be able to tell it apart from the maran eggs that are due to hatch tomorrow.
