chicken fleas

Hey ga goat,

not replying to chicken fleas directly but was wondering if you could tell me where you learned about the value of the ralph mcdonald painting of the wood ducks 'walkers pond'?

I just saw #179/800 at an estate sale for $75 and was wondering if the value you posted could be authenticated.

I have searched online but have not found much, but did see a giclee reprint for about $380.

I am thinking I should go back and buy it!

Please respond to [email protected] directly if you can help b/c i don't check this site often and just membered it to message you.

Thanks in advance,

kevin

Never thought about vaseline. Does it get rid of the fleas on the chicken's head. I have been in a full out battle with chicken fleas for 21 days now. Have had some success but not through yet. I have used DE, Sevin dust, Poultry protector, bathed them with flea shampoo. I have used a torch on their pens sprayed the pens with Pountry protector, eculuptus oil and prytherin. When I get done fleas will fear my name. I am determined to get rid of these fleas I lost three young birds because of them and have to get a handle on it because my banties just hatched.

Yes chickens in Oakley,c Ca get sand fleas. My father used sheep dip back in the 50's to spray in pen.I don't think you can get it anymore.

Pacific Northwest chiming in here.
Had a very dry summer this year and I have fleas in my coop, actually in the nest boxes, so assume it's all over the coop.
I use pine bedding in both coop floor and nest boxes and can see the beggars squirming around trying to hide when I pick out the eggs.
GAAAAAAH! I have a big container of boric acid powder (64%) meant for carpets and pet bedding, but not to be used on pets.
It is supposed to kill the flea larvae. I'm curious if it could be sprinkled on the floor of the coop and nest boxes and then cover with the pine
bedding? Would it hurt the hens? I'm getting Sevin dust tomorrow to treat the adult fleas.
Any input welcome, thanks.
