My new bantam modern game!

Hi everyone!

I purchased myself some new bantam modern game on the weekend. Hopefully these guys will give me a chance to take home some ribbons in the future!

Blue red wheaten bred cockerel. Poor guy looks a bit rough in the feather... due to a war we had only moments before the photo wink.png He also made a 20 hr + trip to get here from the other side of Australia and had a show in between! He was shown by a Jnr and won Ch Jnr Blue Red Wheaten Breed of show (our Modern Game Promotional Society National show which had over 580 entries all up).

My new pile breeding trio. Hope to produce some nice pullets out of these guys as they are from a pullet breeding line.

I also purchased the silver duckwing hen that is in the pic above. She looks a bit thick in this picture but is nothing like it in real life! She is a first year hen and will be paired up with one of my existing cockerels.

A not so great picture of my new wheaten hen. She is just divine... so I have named her 'Divine'! I don't make a habit of naming my birds so she had better be good to me! She also had a boyfriend in the cage with her that I haven't got a pic of yet!

Very nice birds! I have some young blue and splash moderns. I hope to get some blacks out of them also. Mine are still young though. They are only 3 months old right now.

mcrooke45 - Your babies are so cute! You don't see many blue or splash about over here. I love their personalities.... such inquisitive creatures!

Thanks Kevin565... I have fallen in love with them too. Such handsome boys they are! I also have another stunning wheaten male who I haven't taken a photo of yet. He is penned up with the hen so hopefully they make me some lovely little chicks.

joe810 - Why did you get out of moderns? I'm only just starting with them! I purchased some at auction a few months back and I have slowly become hooked!

Time. I went away to school. I have a full time job now as an ag teacher and I hope to have some time in the summer to start back into a couple breeds. Moderns were definitely one of my favorites. When I first got them I remember it was difficult finding any in the midwest. Are there any breeders around MI?
