My babies

Hi all, thought I'd post some pics of my babies. This is almost all of the critters that we have, except for the other 2 quail and 3 rabbits.

My son holding our pharaoh coturnix, giving him kisses. We also have an italian and an a&m, and some reds in the bator...

My baby and Scully the silkie.

Scully playing on the slide with my son... such a patient chicken, lol!

Some of our new girls hanging out in their temporary coop...they are at that age where they are terrified of us, so it's hard to get good pics, but we have Chippie and Dale, the easter eggers, Squeaker and Dottie the speckled sussex, and Daisy the cuckoo marans. Hiding in the other corner is Minnie, our other marans.

Hopefully sometime soon they will calm down a little bit and we will be able to hold them again.

And yes, in case you were wondering, I am expanding their coop as soon as I get their day pen finished. Moral of the story - don't spend money on a prefab coop unless you can see it in person and decide for yourself whether it can hold six chickens or not. :)

Mom to one rambunctious 4-year-old, and the one who brings the food to my "blended family" of several coturnix and a silkie hen. (Flock? Covey? Flovey?) Proud chicken momma of 2 easter eggers, 2 speckled sussex, and 2 silver cuckoo marans, and beginning the adventure of hatching coturnix eggs.

Wow!  That silkie is WHITE!!!  Yeah, those prefab coops are never a bargain - most don't realize how small they are in person.   I'm curious...what's the white bucket you have hanging there used for???

Caretaker of a lovely mixed flock including: australorp, plymouth rocks, wyandotte, d'uccles, silkies, EEs, andalusian, and a few seramas, plus a golden retriever, great dane, and three cats.

The white bucket is their water, it has those poultry nipples drilled in to the bottom. It's a 3 gallon bucket, so it holds plenty of water, and it's easy to add ice on hot days.

I've got to try to make one of those some day!!!  Do you have one nipple installed or more?

That bucket has 3 nipples in it, in the corners. I love how versatile they are. I even use the same setup for my rabbits and they do great with it.

Sure, I'll take some closer pics later today. For the rabbits I use milk jugs with one poultry nipple each since the buckets don't fit in the cages. I'll get pics of them too.

Here are some close ups of the chicken water. I had to take it down and adjust the height today anyway, so I just took some close ups.
