I have no REPLY button showing on a thread where a member has asked a Q? I really want to reply, what do I do?

Did it just now happen?

What browser are you using?

Current Version?

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Hi, thanks for prompt reply, I just went back on line & there were ansers on the thread I was interested in BUT last reply was from :

Flockwatcher

duplicate

http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/689208/broody-wont-get-off-the-nest-with-new-chicks-what-to-do

After this, I could not fnd a reply button. I did then find the duplicate thread but worry that the original person I was speaking to will recieve my reples. I do not undestand what happened?

Ah gotcha now. That just means the thread has been locked. It means no one else can reply to the thread because it was breaking a rule. Since it was a duplicate it was closed so all answers go to the original thread now.

Oh? How were we supposed to know we were breaking a rule? Is this how we find out? Whoops maybe I broke the rule first? How?

You can find the rules here: Privacy/TOS

If you break a rule you'll get a not from the BYC moderators letting you know what happened.  We give all our members plenty of opportunity to learn how they may have broken our rules and also learn more about the friendly and respectful tone we require on the forum.

If you have questions about a specific topic and why it was closed, send a private message to a moderator and feel free to ask, we're here to help!

I am worried that this person is not real. Something is fishy in denmark. I used to own a community website, so....

I hope I am not over stepping my bounds.

Oh I defiantly know you meant no harm. I've never been a Mod on BYC but I did help moderate a fish forum before. It was defiantly a plus when members use to PM me the particular thread that needed looking into for a quicker response. To flag just click on the red flag on the bottom of the post. From there you can submit a report about the post
