Anoter question. How do you make sure the small end is down when they are laying flat. Any ideas? Some of my ends  seem even

I've always used an egg turner and have had generally excellent success. The one time it didn't work was on a batch of nine hatching eggs I purchased online a few years ago - only one egg hatched, but I strongly suspect that was due more to the eggs than the incubator/turner.

They will naturally tip themselves slightly down on the pointy end. Just make sure it's not wedged with pointy end obviously UP.
