If you post a pic we can make an educated guess.  I wouldn't want to hazard a guess without seeing it....sorry.

Hi, welcome-byc.gif from California! Not sure if that's a roo, looks kind of suspicious though.

I don't know either but all of mine have the double and the red comb.  Yesterday, I was in the coop when one was laying a brown egg.

Could just be an early maturer.  Tail feathers dont look like roo, might be a little to early to tell.  Might have to wait till it crows or not.  Im leaning hen, but have not owned that breed before.

My white leghorn does not have wattles or a comb like that and she's probably 12-16 weeks old.  I got her on CL so I'm not sure of her age.  I'm really new to this but I'm going with roo.

I'm going to go with cockerel.  Even though leghorns do tend to have larger, redder combs/wattles than some other breeds, and even develop them a little earlier, that is awfully big and awfully red for only being 8 weeks old.  Also, although I can't see any saddle/hackle/tail feathers yet, the upright stance and large legs/feet point to this being a cockerel as well.
