Need help! Red droppings, mopey Polish chicks, one death.

There was a death in the Polish group. It was described by my gram as "The chick was acting mopey and slept. I tried to get her to drink water, and she did. Then she just laid her head down and died as if to say 'Im happy now goodbye'. She had like a little growth on the one side of her beak, but no blood, and it looked like one of them bit her". I went in the coop and there were two little red droppings and a baby who was all mopey and sleepy. She wad calm when I picked her up, which is not normal for these chicks. She's walking around and running and shenpooped very little but it was a light brown with white. She's kinda puffed up and wants to sleep. I'm very worried and need help fast. More than one of them are acting this way. Theybare all fully feathered.

SCRATCH THAT! NEW EVIDENCE! A new red dropping appeared, but I don't think it was from a polish. There were none of them in that area. It had to be a Cochin. The Polish are still acting the same way buy the red droppings are too large to be baby polish droppings. I'm investigating but I can't tell where it came from. Belle a Cochin had red on her beak like she tried to bite the fresh dropping and she was the only one in the area. She has no symptoms though. I am a very confused chicken mama. Its almost bed time for the chickens (the Polish are already in bed) and I need help fast

It could be Coccidiosis. Read this link and tell us what you think--http://www.millerhatcheries.com

I think that's what it is. How can I help? I'm not sure where to go from here. I cleaned the droppings out of the coop, but Belle already attempted to eat it.

Thanks! I found another red dropping near an ameraicana hen but there are no red drippings in their coop and no symptoms. There is no red in their coop but there is dark brown which is hard to tell if its normal or not. It could've been from a Cochin, but I don't know.

I removed the dropping in question from the coop and it is red. The polish droppings are normal.

Coccidia will kill them quickly. Get some DE at your local feed store, make sure its food grade. I mix it with their feed. Just went thru this for the second batch of chicks past week. Bleeding stopped and they were acting normally within 12 hours. Read up on it. You can also pick up Corid if you choose to use medicine to treat them. Hope this helps.

I think corid or sulmet treats for coccidia. I think you mix it in the water.

I would google corid and sulmet.
