New member (sexing chicks)

Hi all, I'm a new member, I live in England, i am a newy to all chicken things.
I've started right from scratch! Incubated 22 mixed chicken eggs, had 12 hatch out, 1 die later on in shell, sad.png the rest were infertile, so I think we were off on a good note. (only having 1 die in shell).
Ok, all is going well, they are 5weeks old now, yep havnt lost 1, smile.png
It's hard to try and sex them, I know by the comb and wattles I have 1 defo cockerel, but I just can't tell what the rest are! I know in the 22 eggs I had there were 3 bramahs and 4 black silkies, I think I can tell the bramahs from the others. How can I sex all of the chicks? please help? Any advise would much be appreciative..

Hello and welcome to BYC frow.gif If you post pics of your chickens in the Breed/Gender section some of the more experienced members may be able to tell you what the all are.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

I find that all cockerels are easy to sex once they crow.

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?
