Brand new city chickens

Hi! My husband and I are. The third or fourth family in our neighborhood to undertake urban chicken raising in the past year or so. Our little flock arrived from the hatchery yesterday. We got two buff orpingtons and two australorps. We are hoping to socialize them so that they are are at least tolerant of the kids and the dog. We've read that these are pretty good breeds for personality and production, as well as winter hardiness.

Good luck with your chicks! Yea, if you do spend a lot of time with them, they'll be very used to being round people in the end.
Those are good breeds too.
Now our chickens will let us pick them up and will follow us around.
