Greetings from Michigan!

Hi! My name is Kelley!  We are the proud new parents of 2 Rouen/Runner cross ducklings.  We named them Darkwing, and Daisy, although we have no idea what their sexes are.  lol.  We have been considering getting a few Brahma girls, so I have read up on chickens quite a bit, but aside from one book that had a section on ducks, I don't know much about them!  Needless to say getting them was a little unexpected. I am hoping to learn, and I am getting ready to build their coop and run.  If all goes well, maybe we will add some chickens soon! :)  I'm hoping we might get lucky and get a female duck so we get some eggs too. :D

Otherwise...a little about me...We live on a 1/2 acre (for now) in the country.  We have 4 kids, age 6 and under.  I homeschool, and work from home doing custom sewing and other crafty things, and I write on my blog, www.witheagerhands.net , about green, sustainable living, healthy, real food eating, all things crafty, pregnancy and childbirth, and much more! :)

I look forward to poking around the site, and I hope I find some useful info! :D

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
