And everythings messed up! lol My female runner with the horrible bumble foot dosent have her foot wrapped, I guess my Dad got mad at it. idunno.gifThe 3 indoor dog kennels they use at night where smelly super smelly sickbyc.gif and the duckings where a mess, water everywhere!! Their outside cage hasnt been washed down so now there is more flies then ever before!  I guess I now know what would happen if I left it up to my Dad to fully take care of them ep.gif At least everything is clean now. big_smile.png

This is why I don't like going on vacation! Nobody can take care of your animals as good as you can! lol

Haha I agree.. And when I called to see how things where going, my Dad apparently let the older ones out to the pond and when dark came they didnt want out so0o he went down to get them... They wouldnt come out easy so he had to get his truck... And he was trying to aim the headlights into the pond I guess he went to far and woud up with the trucks front tires in the water, the pond water level is reallllly low so his truck was teeterin on the ledge.. Neighbors had to help im so his truck didnt become a floater... Ilost it laughing when I heard that. lau.gif

When I go away I make everything super easy for my hubby, check for eggs, water and feed. I have even got those huge waterers so if he does not check on the, they should be fine for two days!

Seems like there are a few weekends where the kids and I go and he is in charge smile.png good thing he loves me enough to deal with the birds!

I am blessed with two friends who either have a lot of animals themselves or grew up having them. I went on vacation for a week and they took turns coming over and taking care of all of my crew. One of them did it for fresh chicken eggs and the other to trade for me taking care of hers when she goes out of town. My family doesn't like to help with the animals although they will pitch in when I need them to. :)

I will say I'm so lucky to have 1 of my brothers living next to me and another 1 across the road ~ both are animals lovers. My brother next door frequently helps with evening lockup. He's also been great help during the high heat lately and changes water or adjusts fans during the day on weekends if I have to be gone. I say all of this because I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks!! It's my 1st major vacation in 6 years, and I have more animals this year than ever. My brother is making it all possible, and I'm so thankful he decided to move next door to me!

Yep, one thing we had to think about when getting the chickens. What will I do for vacay. We decided that if we can't go away for longer than a day or 2 so be it. We rarely do anyway. I am lucky that my dad will come by and take care of them if I ask. But, I don't want to put that on anyone. (and my dad is a farm boy, misses the farm and loves helping with the chickens!)

Yeah I guess My system was too complex.... Morning clean the bumble foot duck and wrap it..Feed/water the ducklings (right next to the bumble foot duck) then let the others out to the cage/feed them. Come home from work let them out to the pond, dark let them in. * If their cage begins to smell put a layer of bedding... I was so surprised he changed the ducklings cage to half a kennel they got so big in one week :(

And hen Id call in, my Mom would always have them and she would call them crazy and all over he place LOL. They didnt know what I had to deal with, I guess I made it look easy lolll and their pool hasnt been cleaned, its got to be done tomarrow, icky >.< lol
