It's cross country skiing, not downhill thank goodness. There is still fierce competition, but not at high speeds. No heart attacks for me. He really loves it.

I felt great all day, then started to not feel well last night. I didn't get any sleep and the stomach flu hit me at midnight.

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

The norovirus is very bad this year in California. It has had 32 outbreaks as of Dec. 24th:

The snowpack was 107% at the last check--we are getting there regardless of the doomsayers.

I'm at 26" of precipitation this year including last night. More storms on the way . we are having a great start regardless of what they say . We will always be in a drought. Too many people and antiquated water system. Not to mention many of the rain years fall below average. its probably time to adjust the averages . The forests have been stressed yes but a lot of that is years of not burning. to much dead stuff and sick stuff gets the bugs in

Hope you are feeling better soon Kelly. I hate being sick and I don't have kids to take care of! Off to painting class. Getting an early start because of slowing down for the rainy roads.

I'll be back with a painted chair without a seat in a few hours! Toodles!

Are people getting the flu,  despite having flu shots?   They never mentioned what strain the shots cover.

The flu shot is for influenza, a respiratory illness. The Norovirus is a digestive illness.

Kelly said stomach flu--that is the norovirus--digestive without an inoculation.

We used to call it the 24 hour bug when I was growing up...or the Trots!

I wish there was an inculcation for it!
