Got pictures of the goaties yesterday. The first one is Chedder, she's the same age as our buck. She's bagging up! Yippee! First freshening. Babies should be due by the end of the month by my calculations.
Elsa, Fancy, and Anna. Anna aborted about a month ago, but I'm hoping Elsa and Fancy are bred, they will be first fresheners. Elsa and Anna are twins.
Anna, Elsa, Fancy
Emmy was supposedly already bred when I picked her up Dec 12. Two possible bucks. But she's not bagging up or anything yet. If one of them didn't get her then I'm sure ours did, but means she won't kid until early summer. She's 3, this will be her 2nd freshening. The little doeling next to her is Fancy, they are inseperable. I got them together. Fancy comes from some really nice star milking lines. She's my only goat with waddles under her chin.
Emily is my only goat remaining from the original set we bought. One was a male we returned to the breeder, the other female we lost when they got into chicken feed, and I lost the male to worm load (I think) Dec 2014. She had a buckling last year. Hoping for a doeling this year! And eager to see how well she freshened. She was giving about 3/4 gallon a day for us on her first go round, this time should be even better.
Almost forgot a picture of our buck. Mr Obnoxious himself. His name is Monty. He is the reason I will disbud every goat born on our property. The kids are not allowed in the goat pen without me. He's not mean, just ornery. I've learned to carry an old handle with me in there if I am not bearing treats.
