Since I am in the posting mood, I do have to say:

While I really enjoy the Icelandic thread [reading all the interesting stuff on the breed and seeing the pictures] I LOVE the social part of this thread.

Thanks Stella for starting this social club!

Sorry about all the heat for you folks, we are finally getting a break from that. It's even raining today! ya.gif Even the flock was out in it this morning. Nothing says pathetic like a soggy LF Cochin! I don't miss the 103 days - on a hot concrete parking lot you feel singed just walking to your car. Add in the humidity and you can't even breath sickbyc.gif

Another attempted hawk attack this morning.  Heard the rooster warn everyone, so I went out to see what was up.  I went running up to see dust and chickens flying.  Everyone is accounted for, but freaked out.  My dog has been out patrolling the fence line.

We don't have our runs covered because they are too large and we have lots of pine trees that drop pine cones and needles, so even if they were covered, it wouldn't last long.

Not what I want to worry about this weekend while we are out of town though.

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

I have zero chicken willpower.

I hope that hawk moves away, Kelly. Glad no one was taken, and they are all safe.
