I am so nervous I am going to do something wrong. I have never had chickens of my own and I am aready so attached I don't want to lose any to my stupid mistakes! I was using cedar shavings I didn't realize were cedar so i got a bunch of leaves off my trees and using that instead. I tried giving them hard boiled egg mashed and yogurt but they wanted no part of it. I have sand in my back yard that was in a sand box that was never used and the cover was gone. Not sure what's even in the sand. Shoulld I give them a little? Or should I wait till I get grit from feed store? I have so many questions but have found alot on this forum.. So much great info from everyone. smile.png

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Dried leaves make good bedding, but not green ones if that is what you are using.

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?
