hello from british columbia!

Thread Starter

Hello, I've been browsing the forum for awhile, and decided to join.  I have a backyard flock of 4 birds, all given to us by someone who could no longer care for them.  We have no idea of ages, but were told that the birds were all from different years.  We average 2-3 eggs a day.  Eventually we would like to add 2 more birds!

They spend the nights in their coop, and have a run fenced in, but free range in our fenced yard during the day.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Hi and welcome-byc.gif

Glad to have you here!
2-3 eggs a day is pretty good. The hen in your avatar doesn't look very old.

I hope you find all the info you need, and enjoy the site. big_smile.png
