My babies don't have names yet but I love them to death. My babies don't have the feathering on their feet that yours do either, not as thick as yours anyways. My babies are 8 weeks old tomorrow. I really need to get their coop done so they can be outside

Married mother of 3 amazing kids, 2 boys and a girl. I love animals, I have 3 dogs, a dogue de bordeaux, a shih tzu and a goldie. She is so pretty, love the color. I can't have as many chickens as I want and I keep finding more and more colors that I like. My hubby is gonna kill me if I keep getting more chicks. I'm gonna have to cover my brooder also. I went in today and my favorite pullet managed to get herself out of the box they are in. It won't be much longer before the rest figure out how to do it and I'll have chicks running everywhere. Bigger brooder with a cover or get their coop done soon.

Watch out, it is an addiction, borderline obsession. Just tell your hubby he should be glad he isn't married to me. Everytime I see something new I like I have to have it. Then we have to build a coop for it. I have a Silkie/Serama Coop,& A big coop split in half to house two different ages that are refusing to get a long. I have chicks in a rabbit hutch (night time shelter only), and now I need to build another coop because I just bought a flock of D'Uccles. Hubby just may make me build this one myself! LOL. I think I'm gonna stop for a while now.hu.gif

I can have more where I live, I just don't want any more unless they are pullets. Out of the 10 I have, 4 are cockerels and 2 pullets and not sure about the other 4 yet. I have to wait to see what I have for sure before I start to get rid of the cockerels to get me more pullets. Then I'm gonna look around for the colors I want before I just buy the ones closest to me. I might even get a bator and have eggs shipped and try that out a little. I'm just trying to figure out which partridge to keep and which to get rid of and my splash (or hope is splash) will be staying. I would love to find some SQ silkies next time I buy. I am wanting to get more now but the heat and danger of shipping chicks scare me and I have never bought chicks that I had to have shipped either.
