Animals in harmony

My dog Luna is a Rat Terrier/Patterdale Terrier mix.   A rat terrier.  The breed lives up to its name.... They were bred to hunt rats.   Luna.... is opposite.  She has learned the outside animals, and the inside pets.  She respects them and protects them.   When a chicken goes missing, she finds it.  When the hamster gets loose, she finds it.  (with the joy of sticking her nose under the couch and wagging her tail, only to lift it and sniff the hamster and happily wait for praise.)    The rabbit is her couch potatoe buddy.  They hang out on the rug in the heat of the summer, sharing the AC.  I feel strangely calm and trust her when a animal goes missing, knowing she will find it, no matter what it takes.  A neighbors dog went missing twice before.... both times after searching the streets, she would find it in the thick brush.   Eagerly she'll "seek" her pets, and never before has she growled, bit or chased them.  How?  Give the dog the same amount of attention as all the other pets.  When you sit with your pets, let the dog be included and have physical (but supervised) contact with the pets.  Luna learned that other animals meant good things, eating leftover rabbit and chicken food, for instance.  Or going for walks around the yard with the rabbit.  When the hamsters come out to play, her owner sits on the floor beside her and pets her well watching the hamsters play.  Soon, she enjoys them all around her, touching and crawling on her.  Thats what I call a family dog.  A animal dog, who goes willingly to find her friends.

wouldn't have it any other way.. wink.png

The difference between pets and pests is only on which side of the fence they're standing... keep your animals in your own property.

Awesome! How much feed do you go through in a week? I would like to ask you if you have a favorite breed? and do you have any brahma bantams in there? trying to decide between them and the cochins. I believe I seen some horseman in that flock of pigeons that was on the roof. You have a favorite pigeon? cool video.

Thanks,

Someone died so you wouldn't have to, have you said thank you?
