CaliChickies from Santa Cruz, CA checking in. :)

Thread Starter

HI Everybody,

I've been bumping around here for about a month, trying to check things out.  Thought I'd better say "Hi" :)

I have 2 "girls" (that's what I've been calling them- to reinforce my hope/wish).  They were hatched May 23rd, 2012 so they are 8 weeks old today.  An Ameraucana and an Ameraucana/cross.  They are a lot of fun.  I also recently received an incubator from a friend, and after cleaning it and buying a new digital thermo/hygometer for it-- we set our first eggs just last Saturday.  So excited!  I can see the addiction coming on like a freight train. Oh my! ;)  I love this wild ride!

I would love to meet more chicken people in my area too.

Cheers!

Calichickies

I wish I may... I wish I might-- for all the chicks I hatch to be girls tonight!

Hi there! welcome-byc.gif  Congrats on the chicks and the impending hatch. I will not allow myself to get an incubator. Far to tempting! Trying to avoid a severe case of chicken math. big_smile.png

CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread is good for finding folks near you. The first page also lists some local CA area threads, since the state is so large.

Hi and welcome-byc.gif

Glad to have you on board! Your chicks are very cute. I'm sure they will be very pretty as adult chickens.
They look like little pullets to me (in your avatar). Don't take my word for it though, because I've never been so good at telling gender. lau.gif

Good luck with your hatching!
I hope you find all the info you need here, and enjoy the site. big_smile.png

Welcome! Hehe sounds like you have a lot of chickens in your future.
