OK, I thought that might be it but then I see people saying that Jersey Giants look just like her too. She's no giant, unless you put her next to our little banties gig.gif

Ahh chicken math! Not even sure anymore how many we have. We hatched our first egg from our own flock on 9/7 while our son was home alone. hoping a few more will join him/ her soon :)

She does have a little brown laced on her chest that you can't see in the pics, not sure if that makes a difference.

GoodwinMaine, if she has any brown, then not pure Australorp (they also have black legs/feet). Brown could be a black sex link. There are probably other possibilities that I don't know about.

 

You should post separately in this forum to get more opinions about your girl. Try to get close up of the head and also show feet.

Her feet are grayish.... wouldn't call them black.

Thank you all for you replies!  I don't know much about chickens, this is our first venture but so far we are loving it!  I am glad to hear they are all girls, now to get some eggs..........hopefully any day now!!!
