Blue laced red wyandotte gender? - Page 2

To be honest, they both look like roosters to me.

1 German Shepherd, 1 Borador, 1 Malitpoo, 1 West Highland Terrier, 1 German Shorthair Pointer puppy, 3 Australorps, 6 Red Sex Links, 1 Black Sex Link, 1 Speckled Sussex, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Tetra Tints (aka: Amber Sex Link) and 9 Easter Eggers.

YES, I had to thin my flock out. It went from 57 to 28.  :(

You didn't say how old they were, did you?   I have 3 BLRW pullets that are about 6 weeks old and none of them have even a hint of pink in their combs and have no waddles.  Even my 12 week old GLW's don't have that much red.  Hope I'm wrong.

Are you sure that's a pullet?

Well,,, no.  Now you have me wondering.  I'll have to go look closer at "her".  If she's a he, he's going on craigslist.

At eight weeks, my vote is they're both roos, sorry.

At that age, both roos here also. And the other one posted by someone as a comparison also looks like a boy, but would need a better tail pic.

I agree, I believe it was Goldfinches pic. That definitely looks like a roo. At 4 months, my girls have nowhere near that much redness, and the size of that comb....... ep.gif They are just starting to get red now, and their combs are still very small.

Definitely a boy there.

I just checked my BLRW hackle feathers - it's roo!  Glad this thread had me check.

So judging from the waddles on my Roo, and the waddles on OP's chicks, I agree, both boys.  So sorry, OP!
