Coop and pen completed. Starting the free range training.

The Guineas are a little over 3 months old now.  I started with 26, gave two away and had four die in the first week.  The remaining 20 are looking good.

Thanks to the forum for the wealth of information regarding brooder/coop/pen construction, how to get started and what works best.  Here are some pictures of my June endeavours.

There is a lot of work that goes on from the time you hear the words, "I think we should have some Guineas", to opening the gate on the pen of first day free range.

Brooder Fab

A lil' paint.

And I thought it was going to be plain cardboard.

Opening Day.

Guinea Hotel.  In hindsight I could have made the roof line start

at 8ft and taper back to 5 or 6 feet.

700

Insulation and then under layment for walls.

We had to compromise.  I toned down the walls to match the

house and my daughter added color to the door.

Door art with future automatic door opening.

Completed pen with top.  Smaller building is a large doghouse.

Just need to figure out how to best incorporate it as a feed and

water shelter.

Your set up is AMAZING. My guineas would defiantly have been jealous!
