Man, I wish I had a good place to catch bass! I don't eat 'em, but boy are they fun to catch! I caught a 6 inch bass once, and the bugger fought like a foot long trout!

I've never been out that way but I've always been told to go south for bass. I might have to try this in the summer if I can get some time away from work.

silkiechicken, pm me before you go, I can give you an update on the Umpqua.  Hope to do a couple of trips above and below Elkton for bass over the next few weeks.

Thanks!!! I'll be sure to send you a note before I come out your way! Google maps has it as about 2 hours south of here. I can't be in the lab every day right? caf.gif

Good luck on catching your bass!

It reminds me of when I was in Ecuador a few years back. We were operating in a fishing village called Anconcito. Fresh tuna rocks. I'd give one of our workers $10.00 and he'd bring back fresh tuna. He also pocketed a few bucks from the change, but he was paid $300.00 a month so I never made an issue out of it. I don't like seafood all that much, but the fresh shrimp and lobster was amazing.
